Yoga Union is located in a fully-equipped, beautiful new 4000-square-foot space among the shops of the flower district in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The Empire State Building soars beyond its windows. The new Ace Hotel and soon-to-open Nomad Hotel on the corner, Eataly on 23rd and other new businesses are transforming NoMad into a vibrant neighbourhood.

 

Yoga Union is both a destination center and a welcoming neighborhood place to practice. Under the direction of one of NY’s outstanding teachers, Alison West, Yoga Union serves its local community with a variety of classes suited to a working schedule. With business, student and other discounts, YU looks forward to forging strong connections in NoMad. The Yoga Union “Gold Standard” (TONY) 200 and 300-hour Teacher Trainings attract students from as far as Europe, Africa, and South America, making it an international center as well.

 

Yoga Union consists of three studios, one of them a dedicated teacher training studio, and a small private room, all equipped with ropes.

The studios are available for private classes and events. Double doors open from the front studio through the women’s changing room, the hall and private room to the large back studio, making for a spectacular perspective from 28th street all the way to the north windows facing the Empire State building.

 

The colors of the studio–gold, silver and copper–are of the sun, moon and earth, gentle and inviting. Countless volunteers helped paint the studio. All the panels were pickled in metallic paints, including those in the entrance, to give off a subtle glow.

 

The studio walls, under the final coat of paint, are covered in OMs, painted there by volunteers. Behind each rope wall panel is a giant “OM” in gold.
